My Friend is a DJ

NOT A PICTURE OF ME!!!

Since opening my Mobile DJ Company in 1996 I have heard every horror story from my clients about past bad DJs that they have hired or who their family and friends have hired with bad results. Probably the quote I hear most commonly is “I have a friend who is a DJ” or “My friend has a friend who is a DJ”.

Sadly, these words are usually the beginning of a disappointing party.

The usual problem with hiring a friend is that many people that are doing the hiring just assume that their friend will do a good job. There is nothing wrong with having a friend who is a DJ be the MC or DJ for your party (I certainly have done plenty of parties for my friends). Just make sure to ask all of the relevant questions that you would ask if you were hiring any DJ. What is their experience? What is their music selection/collection? Have they ever been a DJ for a party like yours? Are they a professional? Etc.

Don’t let this happen to you. Give me a call and regardless if you selected me for your event, I will give you pointers on how to find a good DJ for you. If that happens to be your friend then great! Just don't make that the only criteria for hiring him or her to DJ your event.

Best,

Curtis
